There is nothing more infuriating than losing your car keys. That sickening feeling you get when you know you should be dashing out the door to go to work or pick up the kids, and you just can’t find the keys.

- Make, model and year of your car or the registration number
- If you can, make a note of the vehicle’s VIN number – this is often found at the bottom of the windscreen or just inside the door
In some cases, the VIN can be used to make a car key when you don’t have the original key or a spare as it will match a key code registered to the vehicle.
